It all started one magical evening under the giant Banyan tree on the breathtaking Kona coast of the Big Island of Hawaii at the Wild Boar Juice and Java. Rolando Gingras, founder of the Gold Coast School of Music in Santa Barbara, found himself hypnotized by the spell-weaving beauty of the violin-viola in the hands of Tony Selvage.
Days later, Rolando joined Tony at his Alohaland Studios, the only solar powered studio on the islands, and they recorded this album together in one day. Sound engineer Greg (KnobTwister) Bransford, in whose memory this album is dedicated, tweaked the equipment to capture the sultry intertwining that makes Pele’s Heartbeat a classic masterpiece.
14 miles away, Pele the Volcano Goddess, oozed and danced her own magic in concert with their melodious collaboration. Brad Lewis, the most famous of all volcano photographers, captured the magnificent splash of Pele’s Heart, completing the visual analogy. Sit back, relax and prepare to transform yourself to a place of ancient timelessness and be one with Pele’s Heartbeat.
